فصلنامه «علوم سیاستگذاری» Policy Sciences با تمرکز میان رشته ای و بین المللی، تنوع دیدگاه ها را تشویق می کند. این مجله مقالاتی که به بررسی جنبه های هنجاری علوم سیاستگذاری و مقالات مفهومی که به مسائل سیاستی می پردازند و بخصوص مقالاتی به موضوعات بحث برانگیز در خصوص تجزیه و تحلیل سیاستها توجه دارند را منتشر می کند.
نشریه علوم سیاستگذاری کلیه مقالاتی که یا به صراحت یا به طور ضمنی مرتبط با چارچوبهای علوم سیاستگذاری هستند منتشر می نماید اما در شناسنامه نشریه تصریح دارد که یک زیرمجموعه متمایز در درون رشته سیاست است که توسط هارولد D. Lasswell و مایرز S. McDougal بنیان گذاشته شده است.
سردبیر این نشریه پروفسور مایکل هاولت می باشد و از سال ۱۹۷۰ تاکنون انتشار آن دوام داشته است.
